No allen key required: IKEA assembles business, people and planet in integrated report

The IKEA vision is to create a better everyday life for the many people. Its latest UK annual summary shows it’s making good progress, while growing the business.

The report, published in November, covers the performance of IKEA in the UK across three core areas – Our business, Our people, and Our social and environmental impact.

There’s plenty to be proud of.

Highlights include:

Business

9% growth from FY17
Opened two new stores – 21 in total
4% increase in online sales

People

Gender pay gap well below average for UK and retail sector
Partnership with Stonewall – UK’s leading LGBT+ organisation
£3.8m invested in co-worker development

Society and environment

5,250 customers switched to a renewable energy tariff through partnership with Big Clean Switch
12,240 sofas, beds and appliances recovered for reuse and recycling through takeback service
100% of electricity procured from renewable sources.
