Senior Sustainability Consultant at Context Europe
We’re recruiting for a full-time senior consultant post with our London-based team!
We are a majority female-owned consultancy supporting clients with sustainability strategy, reporting and communications. Our small, approachable, and committed team is passionate about working towards a sustainable and regenerative future. We’ve been supporting clients to think, talk and act on their environmental and social impacts for 25 years, working with more than 220 organisations to date across a range of sectors.
We take our work seriously but not ourselves. We offer flexible working through a combination of working from home and from our office in central London.
What we’re looking for:
Required:
- Excellent writing skills (please include a sample of your work with your application)
- Proven project management experience
- A passion for sustainability and a strong understanding of business approaches to environmental and social issues
- 4 years+ experience working in a corporate environment (in-house or consultant), on sustainability strategy and communications
- Hands-on experience planning and writing a company CR / sustainability report
- Proven engagement with sustainability social media
- UK based and with the right to live and work in the UK
- Strategic thinker
- Proactive self-starter, keen to take initiative, who takes great pride in their work
- Professional, highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Articulate presenter
- Commercially motivated
Desirable:
- An interest in social media, thought leadership, blogs, podcasts etc.
About the job:

- Project work – Working with our team (UK and occasionally USA), you will be part of our core client facing project team. Our typical work mix includes sustainability reporting, strategy, research, communications, and social media.
- Client management – You will quickly be in a client facing role, building strong relationships based on quality, and pride in our work. You will need to quickly develop a deep understanding of our key clients’ businesses, individuals, and programs. We are currently working with clients in fashion, healthcare, pharma, packaging, supply chain services and tech.
- Business development – As part of our team you will be involved in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities with current clients and externally. We are highly selective in the work we pitch for, where we seek sustainability purpose and innovative assignments.
- Project management – You will support our project management process ensuring our work is delivered on time, on budget, to the required standard.
- You’ll get 22 days of holiday, plus bank holidays and office closure over the Christmas to New Year period.
Salary Range:
£45 – 59,000 per year (depending on experience), plus 20% annual bonus linked to team financial targets and annual performance review.

- Proactive self-starter, keen to take initiative, who takes great pride in their work
- Professional, highly organised with excellent attention to detail
Desirable:
- Broad knowledge of the evolving range of sustainability issues impacting different sectors
- An interest in social media, blogs, podcasts, trends etc.
About the job

- You might spend your day… on client calls kicking off a new project; delivering a draft of a sustainability report; researching environmental legislation and frameworks; liaising with our team of designers to develop an infographic about social impact; developing ideas and strategies for internal and external engagement on topics like climate change, human rights, and the circular economy; and catching up with the rest of the team.
Salary Range:
£35 – 45,000 per year (depending on experience), plus 20% annual bonus linked to team financial targets and annual performance review.
